    Quick Answers to Common Questions

    What are your office hours?

    Our offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PST). Phone lines are available during these hours. For enrolled members, your Care Coordinator provides a direct text line for communication outside of regular hours. For emergencies, please see our crisis resources above.

    Do I need an appointment to visit your office?

    Yes, all in-person visits are by appointment only. Please call (858) 304-4030 to schedule. Many members prefer phone or home visits for convenience – we’re flexible and work around your schedule.

    How quickly will someone respond to my inquiry?

    We respond to all inquiries within one business day. If you call during business hours, you’ll speak with someone immediately. If you submit a form or email outside of business hours, we’ll respond the next business day.

    Can I request a specific Care Coordinator?

    When you enroll, we match you with a Care Coordinator based on your location, language preference, and needs. If you have concerns about your assigned Care Coordinator, we’ll work with you to find the best fit. You can view our team members on our Our Team page.

    What if I need language interpretation?

    We provide professional interpreter services in all languages at no cost to you. Many of our Care Coordinators are bilingual (English/Spanish), and we can arrange interpretation for any language. Let us know your language preference when you contact us.

    I'm calling on behalf of someone else. Can you help?

    Yes! Family members, social workers, healthcare providers, and community partners can contact us to make referrals or ask questions on behalf of potential members. We’ll need the member’s consent before enrolling them in services, but we’re happy to provide information to anyone who asks.

    What information should I have ready when I call?

    It’s helpful to have:

    • Your Medi-Cal ID number
    • Your health plan name (Kaiser, Molina, or IEHP)
    • A brief description of what support you’re looking for

    Don’t worry if you don’t have all this information—we can help you figure it out!

    Can I email protected health information?

    For privacy and security, please do not send sensitive health information via email. If you need to share private medical or personal information, we’ll provide secure methods during the intake process. General questions via email are always welcome.

    What if I need to file a complaint or grievance?

    We take all concerns seriously. If you have a complaint about our services, please contact our main line at (858) 304-4030 and ask to speak with a supervisor. You can also email concerns through the contact form. We’ll respond within 48 hours and work to resolve any issues. You also have the right to file a grievance with your health plan.

    Healthcare Provider & Partner Information

    We welcome referrals from healthcare providers, social workers, case managers, hospitals, community organizations, and other partners.

    To refer a patient/client to ECM:

    • Complete our online intake form on their behalf (with consent)
    • Call (858) 304-4030 to discuss the referral
    • Email referral information through our contact form

    What we need:

    • Member’s name and date of birth
    • Medi-Cal ID and health plan
    • Contact information
    • Brief description of needs
    • Your contact information

    What happens next:

    • We’ll contact the member within 1-2 business days
    • With member consent, we’ll coordinate with you
    • You’ll receive confirmation once enrolled
